In 1990 the Arizona Legislature approved the formation of Joint Technological Educational Districts (JTED's).  Later that year the East Valley Institute of Technology was formed shortly after the general election.  Following a thorough study of Northeastern carreer and technical education needs, in 1998 voters approved the formation of Arizona’s second Joint Technological Educational District:  NAVIT (Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology).

Eleventh and twelfth grade students who reside within the boundaries of the eleven school districts, Blue Ridge (Pinetop-Lakeside), Mogollon (Heber-Overgaard), Round Valley (Springerville-Eagar), St. Johns, Show Low, Snowflake, Holbrook, Joseph City, Winslow, Payson, White River (Alchesay High School) may attend NAVIT.  Home-schooled students who reside within the same boundaries are also eligible to attend.

Students may earn high school credit while attending NAVIT and graduate from their host high school or charter schools.  In addition, students may earn community college credit from Northland Pioneer College (refer toNAVIT Classes” on tool bar.)In addition, the Certified Nursing Assistant Program is offered at both the White Mountain Campus and the Springerville-Eagar Center.

Currently all of NAVIT’s programs are offered jointly with Northland Pioneer College; consequently, cosmetology and nail technician are taught at the White Mountain Campus of NPC.  Certified Nursing Assistant is offered at both the White Mountain Campus and the Springerville-Eagar Center.  The welding program is taught at the NAVIT/NPC Weld Shop located at 1320 East Thornton Road in Show Low near Empire Rental.
